Hi, I’m Kelsey Wright

MSW/RSW

Experience: I have more than 12 years of experience working in the mental health and addictions field, and my professional and personal experiences have provided me extensive insight into the work I do with clients. What has really shaped me into the counsellor I am today is my personal process of healing. While I believe we are never fully done with this process, the same tools which helped me to grow, I am passionate about sharing with my clients.

Holistic Approach: I believe in the strong link between our minds and bodies. My goal is to nurture this bond for better healing. In Western culture, we tend to emphasize our thoughts a lot, which is important. But noticing and bringing in tools that work with our somatic and emotional experiences are just as, if not more, important.

Therapeutic Tools: Beyond traditional talk therapy, I offer a range of techniques including Mindfulness, ACT, CBT, and EMDR to address your needs effectively.

Qualifications: I hold an MSW (Master of Social Work) with a Collaborative Specialization in Addictions Studies from the University of Toronto, and a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Psychology from the University of British Columbia.

Additional Trainings:

  • EMDR Training (Levels 1 and 2)

  • EMDR Advanced Training for Complex PTSD

  • Somatic Parts Training (Levels 1 and 2)

Safe Space and Transformative Change: Your comfort and trust are paramount. I provide a non-judgmental environment where you can explore your challenges freely. My goal is to facilitate meaningful change in your life, empowering you to find resilience and well-being.

Community Involvement: Outside of sessions, I work with a local health authority's mental health clinic, staying connected to broader community needs. I facilitate several community groups focused around harm-reduction approaches for drinking and substance use concerns.

Personal Interests: When I'm not working, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my favourite people and my dog, Buffy, in the beautiful Sea to Sky region. I love to climb, hike, snowboard, and am always looking for a new swim spot ;).
